These are help sheets that explain the process of making a litter picker using mainly hand tools in Design Technology. I have used this as a year 7, introduction to the tools and workshop project for a number of years. Each step is explained and there is a cutting list, trigger template guide and a design sheet for the head part of the litter picker. To make the litter picker you will need: Pine: 15x26x600mm 6mm Plywood: 100x80mm and 100x40mm Elastic Bands Wire or string 20mm Pins

This resource has all the information and instructions needed to create three different wooden garden games, a set of skittles, a ring toss game and a corn hole game. I have used these as an out of lesson resource for after school clubs and lunch clubs. Easy to source wood and can be made out of scrap material and adjusted if needed.

Throwing Machine DT Practical Instructions

This is a set of instructions to make a throwing machines. There are two differentiated scale versions of throwing machines that can be made. They measure about 170mm long, 100mm wide and 180mm high. Both start off the same and can be changed between the two versions. There is a Mangonel which uses string to add tension and a rubber band version which is a simpler make. It uses 16mm x 16mm lengths of wood which I have always been able to get out of scrap pieces of wood and reused bottle caps, so it is a cheap project.

**This is a project for a modular phone/watch/coin stand. ** There is a presentation which goes through each of the making lessons and the two design lessons associated with the project. There is a set of dimensioned drawings, done to scale, for students to follow. There are 3 different parts which students can work through at their own pace as well as two design lessons. One to design around a designer as laid out in the GCSE spec and the other to come up with their own part of the stand for another purpose. Lots of differentiation in this project and easy to follow instructions. Only uses 15mm pine wood so is cheap to run too!
